I think it is a great medication that really helped me quit after almost 30 years smoking. But the first step to be successful is to really want to quit and then Chantix will help with the effects of withdrawal. In my case the side effects were not strong enough to take me out of the path to reach my goal. It is worth it to try.

Every now and then I when I eat something with high sugar content I experience a slight dizziness or imbalance. It last for about 10 seconds to a minute and then goes away...but really freaked me out the first couple of times this happened. I am not sure what determines whether I get dizzy or not. This was the last treatment prescribed after calcium blockers swelled my lower extremities and had ghout after my other treatments. . I felt better with bendroflurazide but after gout which I had been prone to (my first attack at 18 after a glass of port!) My GP would not prescribe again for me. But my blood pressure was down to 135 with benfdrofuazide. Which I would prefer to go back to and put up with the severe pain of GOUT!!
