Ortho Tri Cyclen lo was absolutely terrible for me, it exacerbated my depression exponentially. Several people commented how "out of it" I appeared and I felt confused all the time. I could not organize or accomplish routine tasks without trouble. I was feverish and incredibly emotional. I could not wait to quit this birth control.

Doctors changed me from generic Levo to Tirosint. Was fine for the first 6 weeks. At the 6 week mark began to experience pain in my foot which became severe nerve pain, numbness, and tingling in both feet over the course of a 3 weeks. The nerve pain in feet has subsided some, but at the 9-10 week mark began to feel pain when sitting or bending right knee. It was not practical for intercourse and would remove it becuase it would be uncomfortable. It caused irritation.

Started taking Topamax on vacation to gradually get up to full dose. Went very slowly--got to full dosage at about 4 weeks. I lost weight, but tried to stick with it because the migraines were so bad, but it only reduced them a little bit. At around the 4-5 week mark I was sitting in my living room feeling semi-suicidal and decided I should read the fine print on the side effects. I am a long time user of birth control pills, and ended up on Reclipsen just 6 months ago because my insurance would no longer cover my old birth control pills.
