I would strongly discourage women with anxiety and/or depression from taking this pill. I've suffered from anxiety and depression for years, which is kept in check by medication, however by week three of my first pack of this pill, I experienced depression so severe that I did nothing but sleep and cry for a week. I was 17 weeks pregnant when I had a shingles outbreak. This was my second instance of a shingles outbreak, but first time using Valtrex. The last time I had a shingles outbreak was at age 7 (20+ years ago). I was in pain and worried about my pregnancy. Stopped taking it because the excessive weight gain was depressing. Also didn't enjoy being hungry all the time. Did experience mild improvement in depression, but not enough to make me want to keep taking it considering how the weight gain negatively impacted my mood.

It's made me more moody, more depressive, breasts are way more tender (like, they hurt every single day), bloating has gotten worse, and I've become more self-conscious and snappy at people. But it does regulate my cycle like I needed something to.

I have strange dreams-when I wake up In the morning I cannot go back to sleep if I want to-I have all kind s of thoughts that run through my mind and it does not quit until I open my eyes and get up-like this every day-when I need to take a nap I will fall asleep for 20 minutes or so and wake up startled and feel lonely again-have that and I do not like it at all. may get off this med when I can.

About a year ago, I was told by my doctor to take it as a trial, because side effects of the tablet may reduce warts. After 2 weeks of taking it, there was no change to the primary condition, as I only experienced the side effects of serve stomach cramps, along with headaches. Since there was no change, my doctor said I can stop taking the medicine. Within a day the pains were gone.
