I started taking Metformin when I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I started at a lower dosage twice daily and moved up to 850mg 3 years later and I haven't really had any problems with my blood sugar since then. Metformin keeps my blood sugar very stable and I am very happy with it.

Doctors changed me from generic Levo to Tirosint. Was fine for the first 6 weeks. At the 6 week mark began to experience pain in my foot which became severe nerve pain, numbness, and tingling in both feet over the course of a 3 weeks. The nerve pain in feet has subsided some, but at the 9-10 week mark began to feel pain when sitting or bending right knee. I was put on Ortho Tri-Cyclen as an attempt to regulate my menstrual cycle and hopefully to help lessen the intense, almost debilitating cramps I experienced every month. It helped with no side effects for me, and also had the added benefit of clearing up my acne, which I hadn't expected.

I usually only use motrin for headaches and menstrual cramps. It works really well for both.

Even at the highest recommended dose, it doesn't work a full 24 hours. It does cause extreme drowsiness about 30 minutes to an hour after taking, so I take mine at bedtime. It is also quite expensive if you don't have insurance.

Turmeric is a common South Asian spice found in the kitchen of many Indian homes (making it very accessible). Known as an Ayurvedic (traditional & natural Indian medicine) medicine, turmeric is actually a plant that carries many alleviating properties--one of which is an antibacterial agent thus making it ideal as an antiseptic. It also clots blood, so when there is a significant cut or wound, quickly applying turmeric will inhibit blood loss.
