I have been taking Carbimazole medicationf or 5 months now. I find it very expensive and beginning to think the Radioactive iodine therapy is my next step. Is it not easier to treat the hypothyroidism than hyperthyroidism?? I have been battling extreme itchy feet and hands - mostly later in the day.

After finding out I had Graves Disease and thyrotoxicosis in January 2010 I was put on carbimazole (think I had symptoms for nearly a year but always put them down to something else, maybe "change of life" etc) After only 6 days I had a severe allergic reaction to the carbimazole that nearly lost me my life! While Loestrin in an effective birth control method, for me and several friends of mine that have taken it have found that this pill makes you borderline insane. I was crying for no reason, angry for no reason.. Sometimes I would start to cry and not even I knew what was wrong with me.
