I have been taking Effexor XR in combination with Lexapro for 5 years. Recently deciding to fast and cleanse I stopped taking both meds. Please do not stop abrubtly as I did. Follow the advice of your physician and wean off the meds. I experienced extreme withdrawls including sleeplessness, flash headaches, nausea, extreme sadness and suicidal thoughts. Vyvanse has helped me focus much better and study much more efficiently. I used to have a lot of trouble studying and keeping my attention on the material, but it has gotten much easier. I have only been taking it for about a week and a half, but it has helped. Some downfalls are that I have to go to the bathroom a lot (about once every hour or two) because I drink a lot of water to quench my thirst, which is caused by the drug. A year ago I started to notice painful bumps under my left armpit. I had gone to several doctors and they had given me a different antibiotic than Doxycycline. It had been a reoccurring problem for me so I just recently visited the dermatologists where he did tests and found it to be a MRSA infection.
