It works effectively for me, but it doesn't seem any more effective than the over-the-counter Primatene inhaler. I purchased a Primatene inhaler after my prescription Albuterol inhaler ran out and have not since returned to have another prescription of Albuterol given. Primatene is more readily accessible, and a prescription is not needed from my doctor. The most positive and unanticipated side effect, besides clearing up my strep throat, is that I experience a level of energy that I haven't known for close to 4 years, since the birth of my son. It makes me think that I've had a long-term low level infection for a long time that the azithromycin is clearing up. We'll see what happens once my prescription runs out in a few days!
