My 15 year old son has ADHD. He has been on numerous stimulants over the years as well as Strattera. The stimulants caused decreased weight and appetitie and increased frustration. While they helped with focus, the tradeoffs were difficult. He currently is on Vyvanse 50 mg daily and began Intuniv 1mg three weeks ago and has titrated up to 3 mg. He literally is a much more focused, patient, and less frustrated child. He seems much more happy and has not had any of the side effects except for an initial day or two of feeling tired. There were two unusual incidents. One night, he woke up an hour after going to sleep and thought it was morning and took his medication (Vyvanse and Intuniv) that he takes at 6 am. He immediately realized it wasn't morning and came to me and told me. One other night he woke up at 11:30 pm, thought it was morning and went and brushed his teeth. He realized it wasn't morning and went back to bed. I don't know why this would happen unless he sleeps so soundly that when he awakens he thinks the whole night has gone by. This has only occurred twice in three weeks. Will speak to his doctor tomorrow about it.

While my son,12 was on intuniv he became depressed, angry (stomping & wanting to hit his sister) decreased appetite, loss of sleep. He would be wide awake @ 3:30-4 am on a school night! It has honestly been the worse medication for treatment of his ADHD! We are now on Vyvanse for 8 months now & he's a totally different child.

my daughter takes intuniv for behavioral problems...had problems with dosage in beginnnig and then it worked for a bit but now it does not seem to be working and also I think she has gained weight taking it
