Today my doctor told me to stop the Lipitor because my liver is "not happy". Since being on the drug, I have experienced lower cholesterol. BUT I have also had irregular heartbeat, weight gain especially abdominal, blood in my urine that the urologist can find no reason for, swollen hands and fingers, feet feel sore and hot but look normal, rashes on my arms, weakness in knees, and pain in my right side. My mom is 82yrs old and has alzheimers. She is in a nursing home and was given Ativan after she fell in the middle of the night. She had a bad reaction to this med in the hospital and wasn't supposed to take it. Now it is 5 days later and her memory is WAY worse. Can this have long term effects?

I suffer from horrible headaches. I also get tension headaches and migraines. I take preventative medication (topamax) for my migraines but sometimes I still get one here and there. When I do get a bad migraine I usually take maxalt, but when it is not available to me I stick to what work has always worked in the past and that is ibuprofen. For the typical bad headache or tension headache, 600 or 800 mg of Ibuprofen just knocks the headache right out so I do not have to repeat the dose later... View full comment

Benadryl is a very fast-acting medication and is 100% effective in my case. However, within a half an hour, I am knocked out as a result of the drowsiness effect. I usually sleep for long hours after taking the medication and feel groggy and lazy once waking up. Although my allergies are cleared up, I don't like sleeping the rest of the day or the feeling I get after waking up.
