My mom is 82yrs old and has alzheimers. She is in a nursing home and was given Ativan after she fell in the middle of the night. She had a bad reaction to this med in the hospital and wasn't supposed to take it. Now it is 5 days later and her memory is WAY worse. Can this have long term effects?

i have had alot of muscle tension since starting it and very tired constantly yawning and i have a headache every day all day. mood is more calm but can get very irritated of stupid things. working on controlling that! not sure if i like it giving in time to get into my system to see if i really like it.

You need to report the muscle pain, you could get permanent muscle damage with cholesterol meds, I myself would not take it if you have muscle pain, this could indicate that it maybe is starting to damage your muscles and joints. I have tried five different statin drugs like baycol, zorcor and crestor....etc and they make me hurt all over, just got niaspan last night and didn't sleep and woke up lightheaded and had heart palpatations, probably won't take this either!!!! im the same. ive been on them for about 2 or 3 years and ive tryed coming off them but thought it was probably too soon. im scared to try again now :-(
