When I was diagnosed with UC in December 09 and was prescribed Asacol and a restricted diet, it took a while to get back on my feet and normal again. I was afraid to start eating again, but slowly starting putting foods back in. There are some I can never eat again, but that's okay. My weight returned and I am stronger and healthier than before. I don't like the "thinning/lossing" hair, but I manage.

I have always been very bad about taking a pill daily (especially at the same time) so my doctor put me on nuvaring. I was very uncomfortable about the idea of putting it in and taking it out at first but it has not been an issue. Once you put it in you rarely ever feel it. After a year on this drug i expeirenced severe hip , thigh .leg muscle pain .Slight numbness in both feet with a slight feeling of pins and needles. Unable to carry out any heavy work in early mornings. A feeling of muscle shrinkage which was felt in early mornings when getting out of bed. Also effecting sexual performance. Herplex was the best. I get cold sores when under stress or with a fever. If I felt the tingle and took a couple for a day or two they would dry up immediately. Why oh why did they take it off the market.
