I have hypertension since 1994, and I used to take another drud which is 7 times more expensive than Bendroflumethiazide. The previous did not work, I was always tired, a;ways fainted, and so many other associated indesirable side-effects, and no decrease in blood pressure. But since I started Bendroflumethiazide, my blood pressure is normal, stable, and I feel much better.

I found that I am very sensitive to sunlight, much more so than with regular Doxycycline, and need to use sunblock. When I first started taking it, I was out in the sun all day and applying 55 sunblock periodically, and the next day started itching where the sunlight had hit. The following days, it became red and then rather scaley.

The first three months were hellish. i constantly needed to throw up. my head hurt. i was exhausted. after that everything calmed down. i still feel nauseous in the mornings but it's bearable. i'm much calmer. my enthusiasm for certain things has dulled and i'm pretty sure my sex drive has decreased. but it was pretty darn high to start off with so situation still isn't critical :-) my sensitivity (physical) has decreased though which is a down side. my sense of urgency has gone which is good... I finished taking my last dose the day after christmas 2009. I felt fine until it was actually time to take the next scheduled dose. That is when my life had begun to change. I didn't realize how numb I felt until until a few days later. Norethindrone has regulated my menstral cycles to normal lengths of time. However I have added 15lbs of weight since I began taking. (about 40-45 days ago) Extreme bloating has occured since using Norethindrone. Is there an altenative to this drug that will not cause the above side effects
