I would suggest asking for ANY alternative before taking this drug. I was switched to another one with no better/worse help but none of the foggy head, lethary, and weight gain. 30 pounds in two months could be dangerous for some people.

I had a bad experience with Nuva-Ring. I had originally been on the Depo-Provera shot for about 4 years before I decided to try something else. I researched and talked to my doctor, and decided to try Nuva-Ring. I recently started menopause and it actually came much earlier for me. I had been experiencing really bad moodswings and I feel as though this hormone pill really helped control that. In addition to that I was undergoing a divorce and a lot of stress at home and I feel that this hormone pill really made me calm down more and helped decrease my stress level.
