Over a year ago (9/2008) I fell very badly on concrete, with my left leg bent underneath me. I was given the marcaine prior to having injections in my back. It did a really good job at numbing the area that they were injecting so I felt the least amount of pain possible.

I have used Topamax for almost four years and I am very satisfied with the way that it helped my headaches (both daily and migraines). However, it has caused severe memory and concentration problems. I don't feel as if I can join in intellectual discussions anymore (I went to Harvard) and I am very forgetful. I'm now switching to Lamictal in the hopes that I'll get my brain back. This is a great drug if you don't lose your mind. I would for sure give it a try.

I seemed to be shaky after taking it but if I get busy (do housework, go for a walk etc.) it gets better. If I lay around I become annoyed and tired and need a nap. Its almost like if I work with the medicine I can do my regular routine but if I dont and give into the pain while Im waiting for it to kick in then it doesnt help.
