I have been using Depo-Provera for about 5 years, and the experience for me has had pros and cons. While growing up I had very painful periods, and one year when I went in for an annual checkup the doctor had discovered a cyst on my ovary. Although it has helped my allergies a lot the only problem I have is that it doesn't last for 24 hours like it says it will. 12 hours is the max sometimes even sooner. It is gradually getting better though.

I have taken Ibuprofen when I've had sever headaches, cramps, and stomachaches. It has worked every time. I experience no side effects and it takes pain away pretty quickly.

Lamotrigine has stopped me from getting auras due to complex partial epilepsy, however, when I was at a high dose I would get heart palpitations every day very severely. My doctor lowered my dosage and the palpitations stopped. Also, I skipped a dose one day and had an aura that day, so don't skip any doses.

I was originally prescribed pills that only contained 0.030 mg of synthetic estrogen for extremely painful cramps (and also hoped that they would help control some of my bad acne). I experienced some breast tenderness, and the acne hardly cleared as we had hoped. I was soon switched to MonoNessa, which has 0.035 mg of the estrogen in it, and I think it has worked wonderfully.
