I was considering Accutane for cycstic acne, but thought the blood tests, joint pain and peeling lips side effects were a bit much. This was a last resort recommended by the dermo I was regularly seeing, and I am pleased with it. I've been using it for several years for acne on my face and occasionally on my back as well. For the past 3 months I have had ardor in the mouth. A yellowish-white coat in the tongue. Throat culture came out negative for candida and fungus. Labs are fine. One doctor (dermatologist) believes its an allergy to micardis. My doctor doesn't believe so and he doesn't want to change medication.

I take the drug as prescribed other than when I have bouts of sleeplessness or twitchiness at night. When this happens I stop taking the medication for a few days/weeks to reduce it in my system and then start it again.
