I have been taking lasix for over seventeen years. It is a diarhetic because it pulls teh potassium out of my body. So I need additional potassium to balance it out. It makes me photosensitive from the sun, so I have to wear long sleves to protect myself.

My doctor had told me that my tyroid was under performing and that my other medications would not work as well with that so he prescribed me this medication. He told me that my tyroid levels are getting better so I am satisfied with that.

I can't imagine taking this for another 4 years. It was hard enough to get through cancer treatments, but to have to deal with this on top of all that is unconceivable. Trying to keep my vigor and conviction to heal, but without sleep and so much pain it is difficult to say the least. I have been taking Simcor for a few months too. Beginning in April I was awakened from a sound sleep by the itching. My entire body was sunburn red and I thought I was going to claw my skin off. Tried taking a cold shower, benadryl, anti-itch cream and nothing helped. Finally had to go to an Urgent Care Clinic for a shot and prescription. I have had simular issues. I first started taking chantix Oct 29, 2008. I had terrible abdominal pain and severe nausea. So, I convinced myself to continue taking the drug because I thought nausea and abdominal pain was better than continuing to smoke. Boy was I wrong. I quit smoking on Nov 15, 2008 AND quit taking chantix 3 days later. I knew I had to because chantix was making me very ill.
