I had taken Marax in the mid 70s and as a 16 year old "in charge" of her medication, I probably took more than prescribed and suffered severe anxiety attacks. Sometimes so debilitating, I wanted to jump out of my skin. Then I would crash and thought I was going to die. Terrible drug. I threw the last RX away. I felt like I had the flu for 3 months straight. Would not recommend this drug to anyone. I didn't feel that I needed it anyway, my choles was right at 200....my Dr tends to be a Drama Queen, so I switched Doctors to one that isn't so excitable about everything.

I have been taking Avonex for about 15 years. I credit Avonex for my ability to keep walking and to continue living a fairly normal life, with a family and a 20-hour job. I think I would be in a wheelchair if I never took Avonex. I have been taking one Advil PM about an hour before bedtime for about 6 months since I have a lot of insomnia. It is just as effective now as it has ever been. I am just not sure about longterm use. I do not take other meds.
