Lolav, I find that for sleep the alternative therapies work better and with less side effects then the pharmaceutical approach. I suggest you check with a health food store to see what they recommend. Valerian is good and so is just plain old hot milk before bed. There are stronger Ayurvedic or Chinese herbs that you can Google- some are common and some you have to go to India for. I have struggled with frequent bouts of insomnia since high schools. I've tried almost every prescription sleep aid on the market with less than positive results. They often left me feeling exhausted, had vivid, violent dreams, and overslept numerous times. Melatonin has been a life-saver. I take the 5 mg pill a half hour before bed and I sleep pretty well; almost the whole night through.

I went on Moban in December 2009. It helped me at first but after a while, I have become more dysfunctional with my daily jobs such as showering and brushing my teeth. I have been struggling more with my school. I have lost weight which is a positive for me. But I also have had headahces causing me to take Ibuprofen up to 3 times a day at times. MY muscles have become stiff but my doc says it is not tardivdyskinesia because it is only one side of my body(1 leg,1 arm, 1 foot etc)

I take this drug because I had a total thyroidectemy...it now replaces what the horomones that the thyroid creates. I have always had an easy time taking it, no serious side effects. The real key is remembering to take it every day!
