I took MARAX as a child in 60's, early 70's for asthma. I found it effective, but found it to cause a (to me, scary) side effect my doctor never mentioned: Marax caused me to "see stars" upon rising from sitting position; to the point that this "visual static" (similar to analog TV picture after station goes off the air) made it impossible to see, momentarily, upon rising. My thyroid shut down 15 years ago, but after treatment with Levoxyl it started working again and has TSH, free T3, T4 levels have fluctuated ever since (though that was not recognized as normal 15 years ago). It supplies needed thyroid hormone, but does not address autoimmune problem that started it.
