I take Tums because I like the taste and although I am not low on calcium, I consider them safe as a calcium supplement- if taken as directed. They work for indigestion, too, but if I take one on an empty stomach I get stomach pains.

With Bactrim (generic) I get immediate relief from my chronic prostatitis symptoms. However, during my last two bouts with this condition, I have also had my high blood pressure drop into the normal range. The first time, the drop was extreme so that I discontinued the high blood pressure medication for about 3 months before it returned. I hate this stuff. I get out of breath if I walk up a flight of stairs or if I have to walk and talk at the same time. Erectile dysfunction is becoming more pronounced as well.

I took Yasmin thinking it would give me almost identical benefits as Yaz, and Yasmin is available generic (whereas Yaz is not). However, within a month of taking this oral contraceptive my physicial and emotional state got much worse. My appetite was out of control, I ruminated over everything, etc.
