I have been using nuvaring over 4 months now. Have experienced no problems. I feel that a lot of complaints from other users is from incorrect use and from unhealthy individuals trying to use a hormonal method. I think that if you are healthy (not overweight, excercise regularly, etc.) before use than you will have less side effects. I was prescribed dexamethasone for severe inflammation in my tonsils when I had mononucleosis. I was unable to swallow and had difficulty breathing due to my enlarged tonsils, but the dexamethosone improved the swelling significantly very quickly. It made me very hungry, but I had also lost a lot of weight from my illness, so this side effect was not bad for me. I was prescribed this and Ibuprofen (600 mg tablets) after having my wisdom teeth removed, and it worked very effectively with no side effects if taken regularly as long as the pain persisted.
