Since I have been taking Synthyroid 0.25mcg, I have started spotting between periods. It did not start until I start taking the medication. I do have more energy and I feel my muscles being sore like my metabolism is increasing but the spotting is bothering me. Is anybody else spotting while taking this medicine for the first time, and if yes, how long does the spotting last, or does it stay forever or go away after my body gets used to the medication. Since having the Mirena IUD inserted approx. 10 months ago I had developed anxiety, panic attacks, heart palpitations, chest pain, difficulty breathing, night sweats, hot flashes, memory lapses and a generally foggy and unwell feeling. I have no prior history of any of these conditions. I had the Mirena IUD removed yesterday and hope that these symptoms improve.

Taken by a 16yo Lennox Gastaut patient. Seemed to increase partial seizures. Had 2 status seizures while on this med and began having Atonic seizures which she had not had in several years. Was very out of it and hardly sleeps. weaning this med now.

Lolav, I find that for sleep the alternative therapies work better and with less side effects then the pharmaceutical approach. I suggest you check with a health food store to see what they recommend. Valerian is good and so is just plain old hot milk before bed. There are stronger Ayurvedic or Chinese herbs that you can Google- some are common and some you have to go to India for. I started on Levothyroxine. but switched to Tirosint because my pharmacy didn't carry Levo. And since then, all of my symptoms that I had before I was even diagnosed have come back. Ive put on more weight, I have horrible acne, my skin is dry again, hair falling out, painful/stiff neck. But not there are new symptoms, like skipped periods (Ive taken two tests and theyve both been negative), bloating, restlessness, pain in my joints, hand cramps.
