I am taking minipress xl 5 mg daily at night due to passing urine fully since 2002. what will be the side effect? is it effected kidney or not. please advise me. may i continue this medicine regularly or not? because of i am habituated.

Every now and then I when I eat something with high sugar content I experience a slight dizziness or imbalance. It last for about 10 seconds to a minute and then goes away...but really freaked me out the first couple of times this happened. I am not sure what determines whether I get dizzy or not. This was the drug of my choice when I had a SEVERE toothache. I took two at once and a friend, who is a nurse, said that 2 pills are usually enough. After a half hour, I took a third pill, lay down on the couch and fell asleep. I woke up in the middle of the night. I couldn’t feel my toothache, but I also couldn’t feel my legs either. Since I had a very mellow feeling at that time, I went back to sleep and saw a dentist the next day. Vicodin was very effective.

Has anyone tried going off this nasty drug? I am on day two of weaning down from 300 mgs to 200 mgs daily of Lyrica. Next week I am supposed to go down to just 100 mgs....and the following week should be down to none. My problem is this: I am feeling anxious, easily irritated, have irrational thoughts, and have been driving my poor husband nuts with fits of tears every other hour. Plan B is not 100% effective but if taken withing 24hrs can really make a difference. It gave me a peace of mind and helped prevent an unwanted pregnancy. However, I did get some menstrual changes and headaches as a results. My stress level was lowered.
