I would have thought 3 months is a long enough trial, I don't think therefore that this one is going to work for you... Have you tried anything else? If this is the next in a long list of "things to try" then can I suggest that you go back to your GP and ask for a dermatology referral. There is a drug called Roaccutane ( you may have heard of it) Yes, its strong and Yes, it does have side effects, but it is effective against acne when all else has failed. At first I had difficulty with Procardia XL because it made my feet swell and turn an unnatural shade of bright pink. However, I knew that was a common side effect so I kept taking it. Isotretinoin was extremely effective in treating my severe acne, but the side effects were disconcerting. The usual side effects were bearable, but I experienced some unlisted ones such as a significant decrease in sexual drive. I also encountered episodes of erectile dysfunction while on the medication.
