I used this to treat my ADHD. I had taken two other ADHD meds before this one. It works very well. It helped me concentrate and do all of my work on time. It took away my racing thoughts and It helped me feel better mentally.

My doctor has had me try several different medicines for Bi-Polar disorder. We settled on Depakote because it seemed to do an adequate job with fewer side effects than the other medicines. It seems that since I have been taking it, I have started having more side effects. I have extreme hair loss (although it does grow back) and kidney pain. I have a constant fatigue. It has not made me feel better or "normal".

I have been taking the 40 mg for many years now and in the past 3 months I was told to take another 40 mg and to split it in half so that I am taking 60 mg. I did not like this as much because I would feel more comfortable taking a 60 mg pill, but since they do not make that I will see if this help my level get back in place.

this medicine is good because it stops me from feeling my skipped beats and has stopped my tachacardia but this with the other medicines that I am taking makes me very sleepy and fatigued. I cant make it up until 6:00 without taking a nap and then it is very difficult for me to get up.

Ditto the previous comment also submitted today. Started Prozac (then generic) on and off since it hit the market in the mid-80's. Have tried just about everything else and would have some noticeable side effect(s) always going back to Prozac. Tried those other drugs not because Proz didn't work but as new ones came on market and heard positive comments, gave them a try.
