My grandfather has taken Niaspan for a little over 2 years, he started within the last month with more moderate waking up at night a flushing. I did feel better in the beginning. There is a noticeable energy lift and feeling of well being. But unfortunatly there is also intense emotions and difficulty breathing, expecially in bed. I don't like the feeling of slight suffocation. It causes me anxiety. For that reason I am seeing my doctor and electing to take the shot instead. Works well once it starts working, however, it does take a while to start working. Does not upset my stomach like other pain relievers and anti-inflammatories. Also, the small pill size of the 200ml is nice and easy to swallow.

My doctor has had me try several different medicines for Bi-Polar disorder. We settled on Depakote because it seemed to do an adequate job with fewer side effects than the other medicines. It seems that since I have been taking it, I have started having more side effects. I have extreme hair loss (although it does grow back) and kidney pain. I have a constant fatigue. It has not made me feel better or "normal".
