I was on Prozac for over a year when I first started taking it. My mother says I seemed to have a better attitude and I was altogether getting better. Then, in December 2008, I abruptly stopped taking it. I had a host of withdrawal symptoms and worsening depression and thoughts. For me, kava works wonders for my sometimes debilitating anxiety. Non-addictive, and does not cloud my thinking. However, I usually take more than whatever the recommended dose on the bottle says. No side effects, other than if you take "too much", sometimes you can feel a little tired the next day, and/or not sleep as well in the morning. I used Seasonale for about 3 years, switched to OrthoTriCycline for about 3 years, and then recently my doctor switched me to Seasonique since I did so well on the Seasonale before and it is a similar drug. I took the drug for 7 weeks until I had to stop. I bled constantly for the last 4 weeks. I gained 10 lbs.
