For me, kava works wonders for my sometimes debilitating anxiety. Non-addictive, and does not cloud my thinking. However, I usually take more than whatever the recommended dose on the bottle says. No side effects, other than if you take "too much", sometimes you can feel a little tired the next day, and/or not sleep as well in the morning. had to get off it and switch to boniva as it was reacting with my zoloft. i was getting depressed for no reason after taking it for almost a year. no data on it from the company but i have a friend who had the very same problem much better after taking boniva now
