Have been taking Topamax for about 5 years for migraines. At one point I was up to 300 mg/day but am now down to 200 mg/day. This medication has been challenging at times. I have experienced all the typical side effects to varying degrees. The most challenging side effect for me is the speech aphasia that I experience. I am 36 year old female and was diagnosed hyperthyroidism 10 months after having a baby. I was prescribed 30 mg carbimazole a day and after 3 weeks of taking it I came out in rash and hives all over my torso, neck, legs and it got even on my face. I am confused as to dosing,as some articles say 2000 IU or 5,000IU.I want to use it to boost immunity to the flu. My husband had prostate cancer,I have fibromyalgia and have an 8 year old child.Some say do not take it on a sunny day.Others say up the dosages if there is a flu outbreak.Most MDs are clueless about vitamins.Mine has not heard of its usage for the Swine flu.Europe is way more advanced .Do I have to take it all winter? What was interesting about the drug was how dry it made my skin. My lips were so dry, chapped and red. They always peeled, and my skin seemed so much more dry. Accutane has cured any previous acne I had on my chest and back. From time to time I get a pimple or two, but this is recent. A year after accutane, I was still getting nasty breakouts.
