Started taking Topamax on vacation to gradually get up to full dose. Went very slowly--got to full dosage at about 4 weeks. I lost weight, but tried to stick with it because the migraines were so bad, but it only reduced them a little bit. At around the 4-5 week mark I was sitting in my living room feeling semi-suicidal and decided I should read the fine print on the side effects. Cymbalta was the -worst- experience I've ever had with mental health medicine. I've suffered from depression for 12 years and tried many medications but Cymbalta, by far, has the -worst- side effects to any drug I've ever tried. Granted the pharmacy made a mistake, but the mistake was in my favor! They gave me half the dosage they were supposed to (which was 30mg of Cymbalta) which was the appropriate dosage.
