I have hypertension since 1994, and I used to take another drud which is 7 times more expensive than Bendroflumethiazide. The previous did not work, I was always tired, a;ways fainted, and so many other associated indesirable side-effects, and no decrease in blood pressure. But since I started Bendroflumethiazide, my blood pressure is normal, stable, and I feel much better.

Ugh. Within 2 months I had gained almost 10 pounds, felt bloated most of the time, experienced moderate menstrual cramps (I don't usually get them) and started getting migraines the first full day of my period. Not to mention, I spotted the whole time I was on the pill. It's month six and I am switching!!!

To those who had bad stomach reactions to Candex, did you make sure and drink it with a FULL 8 oz. (even more if you can) glass of water? Very important as Candex is all enzymes and they will upset your stomach if not diluted! I started taking Candex just last night for the first time (had to go on antibiotics this past week for strep and was experiencing some major itching, though I've been borderline systemic for some time now). Horrible joint pain, to the point I could not stand or walk. Took my nephrologist to discover it was the med and immediately took me off of this. They say that the damage should not be permanent, but it's been 6 weeks and my hip is still very painful, although improved. VERY frustrating!!!

LoEstrin is like a godsend to me. Since taking it, my periods have been significantly lighter and last only 3-4 days instead of the very heavy long (8-9 days) flow I used to have. Also, this medication has significantly minimized my cramps from very severe (used to have to stay home in bed) to barely noticeable. I would highly recommend this medication to anyone who is suffering from extreme periods.
