Hey, I am starting to think about the side-effects of Depakine in the long term - the slowdown of brain fucntion, hair-loss, later kidney and liver demage and concentration. I am only 28 now, was 25 at the first episode. And I am really aware of the long-term slowdown of the brain.

Unlike flonase, I don't seem to end up with as much of a dry nose problem. I like this. It also seems to burn a lot less when taking nasally.

I did feel better in the beginning. There is a noticeable energy lift and feeling of well being. But unfortunatly there is also intense emotions and difficulty breathing, expecially in bed. I don't like the feeling of slight suffocation. It causes me anxiety. For that reason I am seeing my doctor and electing to take the shot instead. Stopped taking it because the excessive weight gain was depressing. Also didn't enjoy being hungry all the time. Did experience mild improvement in depression, but not enough to make me want to keep taking it considering how the weight gain negatively impacted my mood.

I'm allergic to penicillin, but apart from that I'm one of the lucky ones that never normally suffers from drug side effects - I've been given many different antibiotics and never had any effects similar to this one. I went to the dentist healthy, within 24 hours I had reactions/infections that I never normally suffer - never had a yeast infection or sinus infection before taking this drug.
