Since I have been taking Synthyroid 0.25mcg, I have started spotting between periods. It did not start until I start taking the medication. I do have more energy and I feel my muscles being sore like my metabolism is increasing but the spotting is bothering me. Is anybody else spotting while taking this medicine for the first time, and if yes, how long does the spotting last, or does it stay forever or go away after my body gets used to the medication. Started taking 10 milligrams and had a lot of strong symptoms, wasn't able to sleep at night, had an extremely dry mouth, and experienced constipation. It also caused a rapid heartbeat until a pacemaker was put in. Now doctors have reduced dosage to 1 milligram daily and side effects have decreased.

I have been taking this drug for about 3 years and I have had not many severe symptoms or adverse reactions. It has fufilled the prescribed purpose- preventing pregnancy. My only complaint is more bloating than I had prior to birth control and a decreased sex drive (but maybe that's a good feature- as it would help prevent getting pregnant).
