Honestly, this medication did not really work for me. I had to switch to a more effective one, and I just don't remember the name of that one. But chloramphenicol was just useless, and with so many side effects, I used to wonder whether or not it was not worsening the symptoms of my typhoid fever.

Hi. Just want to share my experience. I took Candex as indicated for about 2 weeks. I experienced pretty severe diarrhea the entire time. I work at home. I would not have been able to do this if I was not able to be flexible with my time. It got to a point where I had to stop anyway because of the frequency and severity. I got my thyroid radiated 9 yrs ago and went hypo soon after. I was prescibed levoxyl but I have never felt the same. I still have a goiter but smaller. I'm often cold and have low energy but my hands shake and at night I have trembling in my torso and arms. If my thyroid was radiated, is some of it still active and can I switch to different meds.?
