I was having cramps and my doctor recommended Naproxen as a safe and stronger pain relief. It seems to be helping with the pain, although not a full relief from it. I would recommend this for someone who can not handle the harsh side effects of a strong pain pill but needs pain relief stronger than over the counter Tylenol.

DHC works wonders!! Nothing like Codiene at all, so don't worry folks! Also* There is no ceiling effect like codeine! On the negative side, tolerance can build within days. If I were to make a comparison for those who haven't heard of Dihydrocodeine; I'd says it's the UK's version of our "Hydrocodone (Vicodin,etc)". The two are quite similar. My daughter has been diagnosed with Juveniele Idiopathic Arthtritis which has caused inflammation in her wrists, knees, ankles, lining of the lungs/chest cavity, and the spine. She also has been diagnosed with Raynaud's. It is very difficult watching a child who was very active (soccer player, runner) spend weeks not being able to walk due to inflammation or having pain while breathing. Purchased Alli when it first came on the market. Followed directions and diet exactly and was rewarded with severe constipation. At the time the drug company wasn't even recognizing this as a side effect and on there forums would only comment that they were looking into it. Ugh Very bad experience. I discontinued use and thank god Costco returned my money.

This medication was very efficient to relieve pain from my abcess, but it used to give me vertigo and hallucinations. I am willing to take it again if needed, because it is worth it.
