This was the last treatment prescribed after calcium blockers swelled my lower extremities and had ghout after my other treatments. . I felt better with bendroflurazide but after gout which I had been prone to (my first attack at 18 after a glass of port!) My GP would not prescribe again for me. But my blood pressure was down to 135 with benfdrofuazide. Which I would prefer to go back to and put up with the severe pain of GOUT!! After being on this pill for only 6 months I had to get my hormone levels checked. Originally, my DHEA and DHEA sulfate levels were double what they were supposed to be, but after a couple months on this pill the levels were back in the normal range
