My doctor tried to raise my dosage as lab results indicated that I am not getting enough, however when she did I began to have dizzy spells, a feeling that I was being choked and a feeling that I was having heart problems. I almost went to the ER until I realized what was probably happening. Started taking the medicine for malaria for a deployment to Afghanistan. About three weeks into the regiment, started to have vivid and unique dreams that were often violent in nature. This was a side effect but did not bother me. In fact I enjoyed the dreams a lot. I continued to take mefloquine and eventually stopped after I was back in the states. I never got malaria but my buddy got it and he was taking the same amount I got.

Lamotrigine has stopped me from getting auras due to complex partial epilepsy, however, when I was at a high dose I would get heart palpitations every day very severely. My doctor lowered my dosage and the palpitations stopped. Also, I skipped a dose one day and had an aura that day, so don't skip any doses.

My family has a history of osteoporosis and bone loss, so I take extra steps to make sure my bones are taken care of. Calcium works really well, I feel healthy and strong. The only thing I don’t like about calcium is that the one I take are huge and are sometimes hard to swallow. The taste is also very bad, so to mask the taste, I usually take it with orange juice or raspberry tea.
