I found that I am very sensitive to sunlight, much more so than with regular Doxycycline, and need to use sunblock. When I first started taking it, I was out in the sun all day and applying 55 sunblock periodically, and the next day started itching where the sunlight had hit. The following days, it became red and then rather scaley.

Moderately effective pain relief, but wasn't strong enough for my specific case. I was in recovery from an internal-external hemorrhoidectomy, which is extremely painful. My surgeon recommended Oxycontin or Percocet, but my physician, knowing my history, advised against prescribing a more addictive drug, knowing my potential for dependency.

I too am hyperthyroid. I was prescribed carbimazole and had an allergic reaction with a skin rash which erupted within days. I then was prescribed PTU, propylithouacil which I initially took at a very high dosage, namely 12 tablets/day and after several weeks lost my taste completely and had bad headaches. My consultant reduced the dosage to two/day after 2 months as I had gone underactive. I gradually regained my taste but then developed pains in my arms so bad I couldn't sleep on my sides... I have bilateral labral tears in my hip capsules, impingement, and CAM cysts. These problems, over a year's period of time caused me very severe pain, and depression. I can't say enough about how after taking Zyflamend for about 3 days, my pain was under control and I didn't feel depressed anymore because I could actually move and sit without severe pain!!

I have been taking Pristiq for 4 weeks and it has made a major difference in my quality of life. I did not experience any negative side effects but then everyone's body chemistry is different. I feel so much better! My depression has lifted and I feel as if I have come out from a dense fog after 3 years of being on Wellbutrin. It is indeed a beautiful world.
