Description
Eating Disorders are classified as psychiatric illnesses often exacerbated by nutritional deficiencies and are categorized into three types; Bulimia Nervosa, Anorexia Nervosa, and Binge Eating (Compulsive Overeating) disorders.

Causes
While correlation does not prove causation, the following are highly correlated to the development of Eating Disorders: poor interpersonal relationships combined with an unhealthy body image, extreme dieting resulting in sudden weight loss or gain, chemical imbalances in the brain
Prevention
A healthy development of control, body image and perfection are preventers of an eating disorder. Regular moderate exercise.

Rare Symptoms
Death, cardiac complications, osteoporosis, suicide.
Traditional Treatment
Cognitive-behavioral therapy, behavioral weightloss treatment, self-help cognitive behavioral therapy are the most common conventional treatments for eating disorders. The following drugs are also prescribed commonly in accordance with eating disorders: anti-depressants (Prozac (fluoxetine hydrochloride), Paxil (paroxetine hydrochloride), Zoloft (sertraline hydrochloride)), Lithium.
Alternative Treatment
Marijuana, cannbinoid enhancers, spiritual guidance, zinc, moderate exercise, dietary counseling.
