HT occurs when the human body's immune system creates antibodies which trigger autoimmune responses. These responses target follicles in the thyroid gland. Common Symptoms

Common symptoms for Hashimoto's Thyroiditis are increased sensitivty to cold, fatigue, puffy/swollen face, constipation, muscle weakness and aches that are commonlyh misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia, pain and stiffness in joints which is commonly thought and misdiagnosed as arthrtitis is also a common symptom of Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

Research and Development

Very few options available for Hashimoto's sufferers. There is Hormone replacement therapy, both with synthetic and animal derived hormones, and in severe cases surgical removal of the thyroid. Reseach is being done into tissue replacement but has not yet been applied to thyroid tissues.
