Cold treatment

Description
The common cold is contageous and it is caused by a number of different viruses in the upper respiratory tract. It is characterized by a runny nose, sneezing and nasal congestion.
Causes
The cold is contagious so it can be transmitted by anyone who is infected with the virus- this can be through skin-to-skin contact or from public surfaces.. Like any virus, a weakened immune system can increase your chances of catching a cold.
Prevention
Clean with disinfectant, wash hands often, avoid exposure to people with a cold, and don't touch your eyes or nose with your hands.
Common Symptoms
Runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing,watery eyes, head ache, body ache and tiredness or fatigue.
Rare Symptoms
Fever and chills.
Traditional Treatment
There is no known cure for the common cold, but chances of catching it or experiencing bad symptoms can be reduced by taking medicines with Acetaminophen like ibuprofen.
Alternative Treatment
Vitamins C, E and A. Echinacea, Zinc, Garlic, Ginger, increased fluids, reduced stress, mild exercise and rest.
