Lung Disease treatment

Description
Lung Disease consist of any disease or disorder that causes the lungs to function improperly. There are three main types: airway diseases, lung tissue diseases, and pulmonary circulatory diseases.
Causes
Some causes of lung disease are scarring or inflammation of lung tissue, environmental and occupational toxins, infections such as pneumonia; and having a weak immune system. Some other causes may be radiation, drugs from chemotherapy, psychiatric medication, or cigarette smoking.
Prevention
Avoid cigarettes, eat nutritiously, exercise regularly, avoid exposure to occupational and environmental toxins.
Common Symptoms
Some common symptoms are a having a feeling of breathlessness, dry cough, wheezing, chest pain, and fingernails that are curving over top of the fingertips.
Rare Symptoms
Breathlessness and dry cough are rare and develop gradually.
Traditional Treatment
Pain killers, chest x-ray, high resolution computerized tomography (HRCT) scan, pulmonary function tests (PFTs), exercise test, bronchoscopy, oxygen therapy, pulmonary rehabilitation, lung transplantation.
Alternative Treatment
Stop smoking, enroll in pulmonary rehabilitation program, exercise regularly, and eat a healthy, balanced diet.
