This medication is used in the treatment of tension headaches. It functions dually where the acetaminophen component aids in reducing the pain from headaches and the caffeine part helps in reducing the effects of acetaminophen.

This medication is also used to treat migraine headaches.

Not recommended in people with:
Allergic reactions to this medication or any of its ingredients like caffeine, or butalbital; or to other barbiturates (e.g., phenobarbital) or xanthine derivatives (e.g., theophylline);
Severe breathing problems (e.g., bronchopneumonia);
Certain forms of enzyme disorder like porphyria;
Liver disease;
Kidney disease;
History of use/abuse of drugs/alcohol;
Mental or mood disorders;
Stomach problems like ulcers;
Cardiovascular conditions like irregular heartbeat, recent heart attack).

It is also not advisable in pregnant women; those that are planning on becoming pregnant and nursing mothers.
