Warnings
The generic name of this medication is Atenolol and brand name is Tenormin.
The active ingredient of this medication is Atenolol and inactive ingredient is Magnesium Stearate.
Atenolol is manufactured by Geneva/Sandoz.
Mainly used to decrease fatalities due to heart problems after a heart attack.
Common Uses:
This medication is used to decrease fatalities due to heart problems after a heart attack.
Off Label Uses:
None noted currently.
Side Effects:
Cold fingers and toes;
Diarrhea;
Dizziness;
Drowsiness
Nausea;
Fatigue.
Cautions / Warnings:
Not recommended for following conditions:
Who are allergic to any ingredient in Atenolol;
Who suffer from bradycardia, heart block, uncontrolled heart failure;
Pregnant/pre-pregnant women and nursing mothers.
Drug Interactions:
Clonidine;
Mefloquine;
Amiodarone, calcium channel blockers (diltiazem, verapamil);
Indomethacin or phenylpropanolamine;
Bupivacaine, lidocaine, or quinazolines (alfuzosin).

I have now stopped this drug as it made me so unwell and migraines worse. I have asthma so should not have been prescribed it

when I go outside if its sunny I get pressure in my ears and I feel dizzy and can't see properly without wearing strongsun glasses

On monitoring my blood pressure and pulse rate and noted the decrease I became afraid and stopped taking Atenolol

I have heard stories about individuals that wrer perscibed atenolol, and there side effects , since I've been taking this drug,it has helped my blood pressure and heart rate as well, aim active and at rest my heart rate is between 65-72 beats per minute where as before the drug it was 82-95 at rest, and blood pressure was 145/90 to 95 now aim at 177/70 or at times 114/68 which was quite a change.....the drug has worked well for me ... If I could change any one thing it would be to stop the slight dizziness side effects..........

Atenolol didnt help me what so ever. Its didnt keep my heart rate down, made me sleepy even after sleeping for 10+ hours, made me gain 35 pounds in less than three months, and gave me serve acne.
