About Lachesis
Lachesis is primarily used in the treatment of engorged, throbbing veins, like varicose veins. It is also used in the treatment of bluish discoloration of the face, ears, fingers, and toes caused due to circulatory problems. In addition to the above it is used to treat cardiovascular conditions like a weak heart; a rapid, weak, irregular pulse; palpitations; angina; and difficulty breathing. Women going through various problems associated with menopause also find this medication extremely helpful in providing relief from problems like hot flashes etc. Besides this, symptoms associated with premenstrual syndrome and spasmodic, congestive menstrual pain can also be treated using this medication. Other conditions treated using this medication include sore throat; ear pain; throat and ear pain that gets worse from swallowing fluids. Certain conditions associated with the nervous system like petit mal attacks (a type of epileptic seizure) and fainting are treated using lachesis. Various other problems like slow-to-heal, blue rimmed wounds; red boils; nosebleeds; left-sided headaches; fever; hot sweats and shivering; throbbing sensations in parts of the body; ulcers and stomach pain and vomiting in appendicitis and gastrointestinal complaints; and bleeding hemorrhoids are also treated using lachesis. To prepare the homeopathic remedy, venom is extracted from the South American bushmaster snake and diluted in large quantities of lactose (milk sugar).
