User Comments about Oxybuprocaine
14 Mar 2009 I was given oxybuprocaine to numb my eyes at an opthamology eye exam, after receiving the drops I started to have convulsions. My head was completely bent back, my eyes were rolling in the back of my head and I was grinding my teeth. The convulsions lasted for hours on the day of the eye exam and returned sporadically the next day. I took benydryl for the allergic reaction because a friend's mother suggested it and it did help but my symptoms weren't at their worst when I took it because it was the day after the eye exam. Please be advised that this drug causes: hypersensitivity reactions; transient stinging and blurring of vision; excitation of CNS (central nervous system); muscle twitching, tremors and convulsions. The opthamologist told me to go home and lay down and I was having convulsions!!!
