Warnings
Available under the brand name Ticlid, ticlopidine hydrochloride is the generic form of the medication and also the active ingredient.
Inactive ingredients include; citric acid, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, starch and stearic acid.
Used in decreasing the risk of thrombotic stroke, in people with a history of thrombotic stroke;
Used in adjunctive treatment with aspirin to decrease the occurrence of subacute stent thrombosis in patients undergoing successful coronary stent implantation.
Common Uses:
Treatment of stroke and coronary arterty stenting.
Off Label Uses:
None noted.
Side Effects:
Diarrhea;
GI pain;
Nausea;
Neutropenia;
Rash;
Vomiting.
Cautions / Warnings:
Agranulocytosis;
Aplastic Anemia;
Increases serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels;
Leukemia;
Neutropenia or reduction in the number of white blood cells;
Thrombocytopenia;
Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura;
Pancytopenia;
Prolongs bleeding time;
Not recommended in people with hepatic and renal conditions;
Not recommended in pregnant women and nursing mothers.

Digoxin;
Phenobarbital;
Phenytoin:
Propranolol;
Theophylline.
