09 Sep 2011 I take Fanapt 6mg twice a day. I have noticed weight gain since taking this medication. Also, a stuffy nose and some tiredness. On the other hand, my symptoms have improved greatly. This medication decreases auditory hallucinations. I think since I have been diagnosed eight years ago, that this is the best medication thus far for me.

14 Nov 2010 I started out taking Fanapt 1mg twice a day last Tuesday, now am currently taking 6mg twice a day. The current medication I am taking for schizophrenia is Geodon and am trying too change to Fanapt. The main reason I am changing my medicaion is because for me Geodon causes a great amount of akathisia, whereas I just cannot stand still in one place for a long period of time, also my doctor notices I have a slight jaw movement, whereas being on Geodon my jaw is pretty tight at various times of the day. Last Thursday night while I was working I felt a great amount of pain in my abdomen region. I thought maybe it was the muffing that I had ate prior an hour before the pain began. Two hours later I sat down to eat my dinner and I did not feel the pain as I sat down. I got up and began working again & I didn't notice the pain as I walked, however if I touched my stomach or I coughed I felt a slight amount of pain. Since then I have read lots of things about Fanapt and yes those things say it can cause stomach pain. Today as I sit here & write at my desk I feel no pain just typing but if I touch my stomach it feeels like it is sore & if I do cough I notice the pain I have been thinking here maybe it's an ulcer that Fanapt is bringing on, but I do not know until I talk with my doctor on Monday. To my readers who have been taking Fanapt or doctors that prescribe this drug do you know of anything that Fanapt can cause stomach pain?
