11 Nov 2011 At my age I have met many people whose chemo has caused MUCH worse side effects than gleeevec has so far caused me. My tumor was extremely large...no possibility of surgery. Newby to the drug, but in 30 days the tumor has decreased in size and pain is almost completely gone. Major problem seems to be the oncology dept. that I am associated with. Dr. is foreign (not meant to be derrogatory). He seems delighted w/success of drug. Absolutely no counseling Need to find information on my own. Sights like this are life savers.

02 Jul 2009 Adjusting to the side effects was very difficult for the first year and a half but the worse symptoms (diarrhea and fatigu. ) have abated a lot in the past year . The drug is completely controlling my disease, CML and I am very happy with it.
